The trainer is a senior A grade electrician with more than 10 years full time Testing and Tagging, has certificate 4 in training and assessment TAE40110, and is the co-designer of our range of testers.

This course is presented in partnership and under the auspices of Gippsland Safety Training RTO No. 21668

  • Training course cost $195 +GST per person.
  • We are the designers, manufactures and distributers of a range of Portable Appliance Testers, all made here in Adelaide.
  • We are happy to train on any type of tester and prefer to train in small groups at your location, but we do have an excellent training room at the Education Development Centre, Milner St Hindmarsh.
  • We have found about 4 to 5 participants is the best interaction, but we will run individual courses if required at an extra cost.
  • For your convenience we will start running courses on Saturday so you do not need to lose a day's work.

 What qualifications do I need to do the Test and Tag training course with easytest?

  • None, however you do need a general level of education and there is an entry test where you must demonstrate a basic level of English and general maths. E.G. “What is 45+23” or how many centimetres are there in a metre?
  • You do not need to be an electrician or have an electrical background or have any electrical training.
  • The course is certificate 2 which is entry level.
  • You are taught basic electrical theory and the legislative requirements to be considered “competent” under the standard AS/NZS3760/2010.
  • You are taught to read and interpret the results of a Portable Appliance Tester.
  • You are given free a very simple to use record keeping sheet and taught how to use it.

Why do a Test and Tag training course?

There are as many reasons as people doing the course.

  • Any one self employed and paying a contractor to test their equipment.
  • Any one self employed and not paying a contractor to test their equipment.
  • It is a requirement under OHS&W legislation that all plug-in appliances in the workplace be tested and tagged.
  • Anyone wanting to start a new business. There are numerous opportunities for self employment.
  • etc., ect.
